Unexpected Virtual Tours and Training has three full time historians on our staff. Our historians focus on:

• food history
• the histories of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) people in America
• music history
• race and social justice

As such, we never use Wikipedia research. Instead, our historians use original source documents.

In fact, it takes our historians over 150 hours to research a 1-hour virtual team-building experience!

Pricing starts at $56 per person for 1-58 attendees. We have a minimum rate of the price for 25 attendees, or $1,400

For groups over 58 attendees, we have group rates available to bring the price per person down. Pricing can get as low as $5/pp depending on group size!

Third, we provide a resource guide after the event with discussion questions to keep the team building going and enhance the stories that we didn’t have time for during the event.

Depending on how your team or ERG is organizing your Black History Month event, we encourage you to invite all employees to your team-building celebration. Black history is American history, and attendees regularly tell us how much they learned and enjoyed the Black History Month virtual tours, regardless of their race.

For most of the events, no, your team does not need the Treat Boxes. They are optional add-ons that teams include if they fit into the budget. All the box contents are from Black-owned businesses.

If your company does not have the budget for everyone to receive a box, many companies choose to “raffle off” a few pre-ordered boxes to attendees after the event to encourage participation and give extra incentive for engaging!

Usually. We have several Treat Boxes to thematically go with each event, but some of the products are the same between boxes.

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage a lead ERG member or company executive to give short opening remarks. We provide a short video upon booking for suggestions for the opening remarks if you need help with what to say.
